Lumbosacral Instability Managed By Fixation With Rogozinski Spinal Rod System And Fusion
Walid Salah El-Din Mahmoud;
Abstract
Multiple surgical interventions have been introduced to solve the problem of lumbosacra l instability, all are based on spinal fusion. In this thesis we are evaluating instrumented fusions in the treatment of lumbosacral instability and we used the Rogozinski Spinal system and we performed posterolateral, posterior lumbar interbody and anterior lumbar interbody fusions.
The study comprises 50. cases of lumbosacral instability, 25 of which were with isthmic lytic spondylolisthesis and the other 25 cases were with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). Most of the operations were done at Cairo University Hospitals during 1997 to 1999.
