Apolipoprotein A-1 and Apo/ipoprotein-8 in Non Insulin Dependent Diabetics With. and Without Ischemic Heart Disease
Saber Abd EI-Rahman Mohamed;
Abstract
Our work was carried to evaluate the level of apolipoprotein A-I and
B in diabetics with and without ischemic heart disease.
The study comprised 30 non insulin dependent diabetics with ischemic heart disease patients (group I) which subdivided into 2 groups according to BMJ into (group I-A) 20 obese non insulin dependent diabetics .with HID and (group I-B) 10: non obese non insulin dependent diabetics with IHD and comprised 30 non insulin dependent diabetics without IHD (group II) which subdivided into 2 group according to BMI (group II-A). 10 obese non insulin dependent diabetics without IHD and
20 non obese non insulin dependent diabetics without IHD.
These groups were compared to 15 normal control subjects.
They were subjected to detailed history taking including onset and
. duration of diabetes mellitus, any complication of diabetes mellitus, history of heart attacks drug taking can affect diabetes mellitus or ischemic heart disease. Also, they were subjected to laboratory investigations including determination of fasting; post prandial blood glucose, urea, createnine, protein in 24 hour urine, serum total cholesterol, trighycerides, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein, serum apolipoprotein A-I and apo lipoprotein B. Some investigations as ECG and Echo cardiography for all patients also some anthr'opometric measures including weight in Kg and bight in m2 to determine the BMI which equal to body weight in kg divided on body weight in m2.
