Study of Bone Mineral Density In patients with chronic renal Failure

Fathalla moustafa fa thalia Almakki;

Abstract

- Once patients are referred to a predialysis clinic, it is advisable to identify those at high risk of skletal problems, in particular those with "high risk skeletons". Such as patients would include those with a history of previous fracture, significant hypocalcaemia, and/or immobility for any reason, as well as elderly males and postmenopausal females. These groups should be considered for bone mass measurement by dual X- ray absorpitometry (DEXA) and receive appropiate treatment for any osteopenia or osteoprosis.
