Abstract


Preventive measures like patient's education and early simple foot care instructions on the one hand and regular inspection and thorough clinical examination on the other hand, are able to prevent the development of severe foot lesions and protect the patient from a miserable fat (i.e. Amputation).

The aim of the study


The aim of this study is to test the impact of foot care teaching program on diabetic patients.

Methodology


Subjects


One hundred patients were selected from both clinics (fifty for each), patients from Ain Shams were chosen as control group, while patients selected from the institute of diabetes were the study group, based on the identified criteria, the duration of illness was more than 10 years and patients must not have feet infection.
