THE VALUE OF MEASUREMENT OF COPPEB ZINC, MAGNESIUM AND SELENIUM IN CHU40NIC LIVER DISEASES

Abstract


The study was done on 134 persons (35 controls and. 99 with chronic liver disease) their age range from 24-71 y• ara old, from outpatient clinics of Liver Institute, Menoafia University.

According to clinical diagnosis, sonography, rectal snip, liver biopsy, hepatitis marker and liver function tests, the


patient were classified into 3 broad groups:
Group I (Post hepatitic liver cirrhosis number).

Group II (Bilharzial- 23 in number).



Group III (Mixed post hepatitic liver cirrhosis with

Bilharziasis- 24 in number).






All the patients and control group were subjected to the following laboratory investigation:
1) Liver function testa [ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin

(total and direct), albumin and TP].

2) Hepatitis marker [HBsAg, HBcAb (IgG) and anti-HCV].

3) Serum copper, zinc, magnesium and selenium.
