ION EXCHANGE AND SELECriVITY BEHAVIOUR OF CERIUM (IV) ANTIMONATE AS ION EXCHANGER

Abstract
The insoluble salts of polybasic acids with tetravalent metals (cerium(IV) antimonte) can be used as ion exchanger for separation of radionuclides from liquid waste. The ion exchange is effective in concentrating nuclides into small volume of the liquid waste. Inorganic ion-exchangers found many applications specially in nuclear field because of their strong chemical affinity, high retention of certain radionuclides and capacity, high resistance for ionizing radiation as well as economic aspects.
