STUDY OF THE CAPILLARY PRESSURES OF SOME EXPOSED MIOCENE RESERVOIR ROCKS, GULF OF SUEZ, EGYPT
OSAMA MOHAMED EL SAYED EL NAGGAR;
Abstract
The present work aims to study the capi ll ary pressure properties of the Lower Miocene Rudeis Formation exposed in the Gulf of Suez (south western S inai) in Wadi Feiran and Wad i Baba areas through studyi ng of geologica l , petrological and petrophysical properties of these rocks. For this aim, two l ithostratigraphi c sections of the M iocene rocks croppi ng out along the eastern shoulder of the Gu lf of Suez (south western Sinai) in Wadi Fei ran a nd Wadi Baba areas were studied. These are Gebel Hadahid and Wadi Baba sections. The studied area of Gebel Hadahid lies bet ween latitudes 28° 43', 28° 45' Nand longitudes 33° 23', 33" 25' E with a measured section of 1 96 meters. Similarly in case of Wadi Baba area it li es at a latitude28" 57' 1 8" Na nd longitudes33• 16' 1 5", 33" 16' 27'' E with a measured section of 94.75 meters. These sect ion s belong to the Rudei s Format ion (Lower Miocene). Thi11y three (33) and fourty three (43) representative sam pl es were coll ected from Gebel Hada hid and Wadi Baba areas respectivel y, these sampl es were subjected to different petrological and petrophysical analyses.
