Closed Head Injury Diagnosis and Management

Abstract

T he aim of our study to focus the light of a serious life threatening closed head injury, And hence we will study the morbidity and mortality outcome with respect surgical /conservative plane of management. In our study the morbidity and mortality outcome with respect surgical / conservative plane of management that resulting 26.32%34.48%respectively. Isolated H.I and head injury associated extra cranial injury.so morbidity and mortality 27.27%,70%respectively. According to Intracranial pathology (EDH, SDH, Contusion) the EDH 18 case 8 operated with morbidity and mortality 37.5, SDH 17cases 10 of them operated with morbidity and mortality 40%, contusions 16 cases 6 of them operated with50%morbidity and mortality And Time elapsed to reach hospital divided either before or after 24 hour which was 34 reach before 24 hour resulting in surgical treatment morbidity and Mortality 33.34% and 16 cases reach after 24 hour withmorbidity and mortality 55.55%. Mild head injury (MHI) 27 cases 9 of them operated with morbidity and mortality of surgical treatment 11.12% moderate H.I 13cases 6 cases operated with morbidity and mortality 66,67%, sever H.I 10 cases 6 of them operated and morbidity and mortality 83.34%.
