Abstract

According to the obtained results, it can be concluded that all tested amendments had positive effect in curing the effect of water salinity. Using Humic acid with or without compost showed the best significant effect in all measures, because that the humic acid had a high cation exchangeable capacity (200 mmol(+) kg-1), holding the salts cations on the surface of humic acid molecules and lead to decreasing the osmotic pressure in the soil solution at the root zone. Amino acids came after the humic acid, its gave a significant effect in all measures, due to the amino acids treptophane and methunen activation in forming natural auxins which activate roots growing and so amino acid glotamic create the hydroxe prolein and argenin which increased the cells protoplasm concentration and that decreased the damage perils results from environmental stresses (i.e. salinity and thirsty suffer). The least were magnetite and gypsum. Magnetite solve the soil compressed problem which lead to increasing the salts leaching operation, increasing plant growing (i.e. root growing and dry weight) and increase the ionization of salts in the soil and converted into cations and anions. Gypsum is a source of Ca++ in the soil, that’s lead to rid of major harmful Na+ , that’s make a good salting balance at the root zone, and so gypsum enhance soil characteristics by increasing the porosity and infiltration, and that’s lead to leaching the harmful salts and keep it away from the root zone. Using Compost showed a negative significant effect especially with the saline waters, that’s may be due to its content of salts, so it is not recommended to use saline compost in agriculture practices when the available water has high salinity rate. In the mean time using amendments especially humic acid as soil treatment and amino acids as foliar application can cure the side effect of high water salinity up to 3000 mgl-1 and high compost salinity 4480 mgl-1.
