Abstract


Introduction: The provision of safe anesthesia for pediatric patients depends on a clear understanding of the physiologic and pharmacologic difference between children and adults.Special consideration must be given to premature infants, as well as those with congenital malformations.
Aim of the Work:The aim of this work is to highlight the, Essentials of pediatric anesthesia.Intraoperative complications in pediatric anesthesia.Postoperative complications in pediatric anesthesia.Measures and recommendations for safe pediatric anesthesia.
Methodology:The provision of safe anesthesia for the pediatric patient depends at first on a clear understanding of the physiological and anatomical differences between children and adults, especially airway anatomy, cardiovascular and respiratory physiology.
Conclusion: The anesthetic techniques which are done by the anesthetist could be the source of complications. These include techniques for airway management, which are mainly traumatic complications to the airway structures. Also mechanical ventilation and vascular access techniques carry many hazards to the patients.
