Abstract

Introduction: The provision of safe anesthesia for pediatric patients depends on a clear understanding of the physiologic and pharmacologic difference between children and adults.Special consideration must be given to premature infants, as well as those with congenital malformations. Aim of the Work:The aim of this work is to highlight the, Essentials of pediatric anesthesia.Intraoperative complications in pediatric anesthesia.Postoperative complications in pediatric anesthesia.Measures and recommendations for safe pediatric anesthesia. Methodology:The provision of safe anesthesia for the pediatric patient depends at first on a clear understanding of the physiological and anatomical differences between children and adults, especially airway anatomy, cardiovascular and respiratory physiology. Conclusion: The anesthetic techniques which are done by the anesthetist could be the source of complications. These include techniques for airway management, which are mainly traumatic complications to the airway structures.
