Comparison Between Segmental Annuloplasty and DeVega Annuloplasty In Tricuspid Valve Repair

Abstract

Inspite of all refinements in tactics and techniques in cardiac surgery, the main goal of our effort should be, first, to decrease by effective prevention the incidence of rheumatic fever, second, to decrease by effective preventation the incidence of post-rheumatic heart affection and third, as the former two is not likely to come true in the near future, to have at least patients with rheumatic mitral valve disease indicated for surgical management before tricuspidalization has occurred for this condition is a manifestation of advanced haemodynamic changes which as a rule significantly raise the risk of the surgical procedure.
