Coronary reserve in hypertensive patients and its correlates

Abstract
Sixty five patients and subjects were included in this study collected from the hypertension out patient clinics in Ain Shams University Hospitals to study effect of HTN and its correlates on coronary reserve parameters.
Those sixty five persons were divided into 2 groups:
Group (1): Included 14 normotensive subjects &
Group (2): Included 51 hypertensive patients with mild •and moderate hypertension (recently diagnosed)
All patients and subjects were informed about the steps of the study and thorough medical history was taken. We did for every patient:
• Measurements for his/her blood pressure.
• ECG, complete blood counts, blood glucose level and total
• Blood cholesterol level
• Treadmill test with bruce protocol.
• Transthoracic echo followed by transesophageal echo with dipyridamole in 0.84 mglkg dose.
• The TEE procedure was recorded in video tapes.
