SEA WATER INTRUSION IN NILE DELTA IN PERSPECTIVE OF CLIMATE CHANGES AND AQUIFER HETEROGENEITY

Eng. Eman Ragab Mohamed Nofal;

Abstract

A comprehensive conceptual detailed regional model for the Nile Delta aquifer has been composed in terms of actual perspective of aquifer heterogeneity using all the new available field data. The numerical model uses SEAWAT code which considers the formation heterogeneity monitored from the boreholes geological data and different densities of groundwater due to change of salinity with depth. The impacts of climate changes on behavior of Nile Delta aquifer were assessed for sea level rise and possible decrease of Nile River inflow.
