Abstract
In the present work a conventional telescopic hydraulic damper
is modified and compared with the original one_
The BOGE damper which is installed in the FIAT 128 car was chosen to be modified because it is locally produced. Instead of the bi directional flow in the conventional damper, a uni-directional flow is achieved by using an external control circuit This circuit contains a flow rate control valve and a non-return valve. Both the conventional and modified dampers are assembled and tested on a universal test machine.
