Abstract


SUMMARY
pacemaker is small device that's placed in the chest and
abdomen to help control abnormal heart ryrhms. This
device uses electrical pulses to promote the heart to beat at
normal rate. A pacemaker are used treat arrythmis. Arrythmias
are problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. During an
arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast or too slow, with an
irregular rhythm, as the heart may not be able to pump enough
blood to the body. This can cause symptoms such as fatigue
(Tiredness, shortness of breath, or fatigue. Sever arrhythmia
can damage the body's vital organs and may even cause loss of
consciousness or death. A pacemaker can relive some
arrhythmia symptoms, such as fatigue and fainting. A
pacemaker also can help a person who has abnormal heart
rhythms resume a more active lifestyle (Kanjilal, 2014).
I- Technical design:
The technical design for study includes four main
categories, research design, setting, subjects and tools for data
collection.
1- Research Questions:
1- Are the clients having knowledge about the
permanent pacemaker?
2- Is the permanent pacemaker effect on the physical,
psychological, social, and spiritual and their sexual
status?

Research Design:
A Descriptive study design was used to conduct this
study.
Technical Design:
The technical design for the study was included setting
of the study subject and tools for data collection.
Research Setting:
The study was conducted at in cardiac outpatient clinics
at El- Demerdash Hospitals, Cairo governmental
Subjects:
A purposive sample was used in this study. The total
number of client with permanent pacemaker admitted annually
at ElDemardash Hopital are 240annualy (5 client /week). Their
age over 40 years and recent implantation of pacemaker from
6to12 months. The number of subject that was including 100
clients.
Tools of data collection:
Data was collected by using the following tool:
Interview questionnaire was designed by investigator
after reading related literature and taking expert's opinions it
was written in Arabic Language and divided into four parts as
followed:

client such as age, gender, marital status, education level ...ect..

Client’s level of knowledge about the permanent
pacemaker, as Meaning, function, indication, sits of insertion,
precaution that should be followed the client with permanent
