Abstract

The use of composite resin material restorations has become more and more important for patient and clinicians in recent decade. Recent progress in materials technology and manufacturing procedures extended the indications for natural and translucent appearance. This could be achieved with metal-free restorations such as the newly introduced composite material (SR-Adoro) by Ivoclar Vivadent Company.

This current study was designed to assess the influence of topical fluoride application on the color stability, surface roughness, fracture resistance and staining ability of a newly introduced composite material (SR Adoro; Ivoclar Vivadent) after its storage in different common
beverage solutions.

A total of forty SR Adoro discs (Ivoclar vivadent) had been fabricated according to the manufacturer instructions of 1 mm thickness and 12 mm diameter.

The samples had been divided into two main groups of twenty samples per each:

Group 1: Control group consisted of twenty SR Adoro discs were immersed in distilled water.

Group II: Twenty SR Adoro discs were exposed to 0.4% stannous fluoride gel.
