Abstract

Sabrin Ali Bakr Tamam, The effect of some engineering Factors of irrigation System by Aeroponics. Unpublished M.Sc. thesis, Department of Agriculture Engineering,Faculty of Agriculture,Ain ShamsUniversity, 2017.
The current experiment was carried out in the greenhouse, in the Central Laboratory of Agricultural Climate, Agricultural Research Center, Dokki, Giza, Egypt, during 5/4/2016 to 10/5/2016 (35 days), to study the effect of some engineering factors of irrigation system by aeroponics.
Experimental layout included the effect of the space between agriculture columns on crop productivity, effect of the sunlight on the vegetative and root length, the effect of vertical spacing of pipes on productivity for lettuce and celery, comparison between using aeroponics and deep water systems and water use efficiency.
Treatment of the affecting parameters could be summarized as follows:
• The nozzle of mini-sprinkler gave the highest production for lettuce, lollorosso and celery was at 100*100 cm spacing between columns, where the total productivity for lettuce and celery was as follows; 9.5 kg and 10.5 kg/cycle, respectively with better distribution of sun light at 1200 lux.
• Sunlight effect on productivity was obvious at the top of Colum, where the total vegetative lengths for lettuce and celery were 22.8 and 42 cm, respectively. Lengths of total root for lettuce and celery were 7.4 cm and 8.8 cm, respectively.
• Water use efficiency for lettuce and celery was 59.37kg/m3 and 46.3 kg/m3/cycle, respectively.
