Abstract
This study aimed to measure the anti-mumps IgG antibodies in Egyptian infants, children and adolescents to evalute their immunological status and hence the necessity for vaccination.
This study comprised 200 subjects chosen from Ain Shams University Hospitals' Outpatient Clinics and Egypt Air Hospital's Outpatient Clinic. Their ages ranged between 0 - 18 years, equally distributed between both sexes, and of nearly the same socioeconomic
. status. The sample was a purposive non-random one divided into five • age groups, 0 - 4 weeks, 4 weeks - 2 years, 2 - 6 years, 6 - 12 years and 12- 18 years. The group 4 weeks- 2 years was subdivided into 4 weeks - 1 year and I - 2 years subgroups.
A clinical history was taken stressing on the history of mumps and/or MMR vaccination.
