Abstract

Recently new antiviral drugs have been developed; these medicines called direct antiviral agents (DAA) are much more effective, safer and better-tolerated than the older therapies, therapy with DAA as sovaldi can cure most persons with HCV infection and treatment is shorter (usually 12 weeks) and safer(WHO, 2016). Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi) is a newly nucleotide analog medication used in combination with other drugs for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, compared to previous treatment sovaldi based regimens provide a higher cure rate and fewer side effects(El Malky et al.,2016).
