Abstract

The aim of the present study was to evaluate a Cross-Linked Gutta-percha Core Obturator [Guttacore] regarding:
1. Homogeneity.
2. Ability to fill Simulated Lateral Canal.
Sixty extracted human single rooted teeth with fully formed apices were selected for this study. Decoronation of the samples was done at the length of 15 mm. the samples were shaped using protaper universal rotary system up to F4 file reaching an apical diameter of 40/06. The canals were irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl after each file and final irrigation was done using distilled water.
This study consists of two main parts:
I. Homogeneity.
II. Ability to fill simulated lateral canals.
Each part contains 30 samples. The samples were randomly classified within each part according to the method of obturation into three groups (n= 10): group A: carrier-based obturation technique using GuttaCore obturators (GC), group B: continuous wave of condensation technique (CWT) and group C: cold lateral condensation technique (LCT).
