SUMMARY
G
lioblastoma multiforme is the most aggressive primary central nervous system (CNS) neoplasm. The incidence of GBM does not depend on geographic or ethnical factors. These neoplasms usually occur in the sixth and seventh decades of life.
This is a retrospective analysis carried out in Ain-Shams clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine department, Faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University between the period of 1st January 2012 till December 31 2016, where 111 medical records were planned to be analyzed, from which 18 records were not included in analysis (8 records weren’t available in the archive, 10 contained inadequate data)and 93 were analyzed aiming at detection of the prognostic factors, response, progression free survival and overall survival of patients with GBM.
All 93 eligible patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria and the medical sheets were reviewed including history, clinical and neurological examination, routine laboratory tests, radiological investigation including CT or MRI brain, radiation therapy and follow up.
