Abstract
For the most of the developed countries in the world Aviation is considered as a fundamental tool of economicdevelopment that has a direct influence on the progress of national economy,Egyptian Aviation as well has the same importance; moreover, it has a huge and fatal role & importance in the Egyptian economic which is supporting the tourism sector and the international trade flow between Egypt and the international markets.
Egypt as a pioneer in the aviation sector in Africa and Middle East regions that has sustained regional leading position has experienced some problems during the recent years as the map of aviation haschanged because of the fast developing Gulf Carriers and European/Asian investments in Africa which shakes the performance of the Egyptian aviation sector including the Egyptian Airlines.
This research develops a Statistical model that can forecast the sales volume of Egyptair Airlines as it is the largest airline in Egypt and the Egyptian flag carrier, thus the statistical modeldrew a sample of Egyptair’s routes (London – Beirut – Addis Ababa) that have different characteristics and responses to the changes in the independent variables during the time interval of 6 years (72 month) staring January 2011 till December 2016, also it suggests that sales volume of sample routes as dependent variable and each of the demand, selling price, market share, Egyptair’s seats supplied and the supply as independent variables for the model.
