Single Scrotal Incision Orchiopexy in Children with Palpable Undescended Testis

Abstract


T
he aim of the study is to assess the efficacy and safety of single-incision, transscrotal orchidopexy in management of palpable, inguinal mal-descended testis in Ain Shams university hospital. The present study was performed in Pediatric Surgery department, Ain Shams University Hospital in Cairo, and in this prospective design that was adopted to fulfill the purpose of the study, 15 children aged from 6 months to 2 years were enrolled in whom unilateral or bilateral un descended testes were diagnosed, we had found the following results:
 The most common sites of undescended testis were intracanalicular and scrotal neck regions
 The most common postoperative complication was scrotal edema
 Mean operating time was 21 minutes
 There was no significant difference in the testicular size pre and post operative
