Abstract

Dyslexia is the most common learning disorder that is internationally the most extensively investigated learning disorder regarding its features and co morbidities. When dyslexic children are properly evaluated they were found to have one or more additional Neurodevelopmental dysfunction, motor coordination and sensory integration problems that are frequently present among dyslexic children. Specific weakness in cognitive function areas such as attention, memory, language or spatial ordering, add more load and interfere with the academic acquisition of the traditional academic skills and may seriously compromise child’s overall academic productivity. Those dysfunctions can result in low self-esteem and loss of motivation leading to behavioral problems such as anxiety, depression and disruptive behaviors.
