Full sequence analysis of F gene of NDV and comparative evaluation of genotype II and VII vaccines
Karim Mohamed Selim;
Abstract
Newcastle disease (ND) is one of the most devasting diseases affecting poultry especially in large scale production causing severe economic losses due to high mortality which may reach 100% in very virulent strains of NDV.
NDV is (A) listed disease in the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code. However, not all NDV strains are virulent, thus this classification based on the virus characteristics.
In the current study, characterization of some Newcastle disease virus (NDV) isolates from different localities and different years in Egypt carried out and six NDV field samples were detected by Real time polymerase chain reaction (RRT-PCR). All of 6 samples were positive for NDV and confirmed by SPF egg isolation, HA and HI tests.
