APPLICATION OF SOME ORGANIC BYPRODUCTS FOR INCREASING THE PRODUCTIVITY OF YELLOW MAIZE
YASSER MOHAMED ABD-ELKREM;
Abstract
Two field experiments were carried out at a private farm (newly reclaimed soil) at Somusta city, Bani- Suif Governorate, Egypt, during 2014 and 2015 growing seasons. These experiments aimed to evaluate the application of different nitrogen sources and their combinations for increasing the productivity and quality of yellow maize (zea mays). Results showed that:
1. Soil chemical characteristics:-
Total nitrogen % increased by addition the studied treatments and the highest nitrogen content was recorded at the rate of 60kg mineral nitrogen (MN)+60kg organic nitrogen as poultry manure (OPM) .Organic matter statistically significant increased after harvest and the highest amount in the soil was appeared after adding 120kg organic farmyard manure (OFM) per faddan . Organic fertilization with 120kg poultry manure fertilizer/fad. out-yielded available phosphorus% or/and potassium content in the soil site after harvest than other studied treatments.
