ENVIRONMENTAL RISK FACTORS FOR REPEATED PREGNANCY LOSS INPATIENTS WITH ANTIPHOSPHOLIPID SYNDROME AND PULMONARY EMBOLISM

Azza Moustafa Foad Hathhout;

Abstract

Antiphospholid syndrome is an autoimmune hypercoagulable state caused by antiphospholid antibodies. Antiphospholipid syndrome can be primary or secondary. Primary antiphospholipid syndrome occurs in absence of any other related disease. Secondary antiphospholipid syndrome occurs with other autoimmune disease as systemic lupus erythrematosis.
The antiphospholipid antibody syndrome is a thrombophilic diathesis leading to an increased rate of thrommbotic events, both in arterial and venous system as well as pregnancy morbidities. Diagnosis is based on presence of one clinical event i.e. thrombosis or pregnancy complications and serologic presence of antiphospholipid antibodies and in order to justify the diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome, antibodies have to be detectable on two or more occasion at least 12 weeks a part.
