"Applicability of a Mathematical Equation in Tooth Size Prediction in Mixed Dentition in a Sample of Egyptian Adolescents with Cleft Lip and/or Palate" A Retrospective Study
Muhammad Ahmed Helmi Barghouth;
Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the applicability of a proposed linear regression equation for prediction of the combined mesiodistal widths of permanent canines and premolars in a sample of Egyptian adolescents with complete cleft lip and palate (CLP).
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans belonging to non-cleft individuals and others with different types of complete CLP were used in this study. The study sample was composed of four groups, non-cleft individuals, individuals with unilateral complete cleft lip and palate (UCLP), individuals with bilateral complete cleft lip and palate (BCLP) with rudimentary premaxillae and finally individuals with bilateral complete cleft lip and palate (BCLP) with well-developed premaxillae.
