ANALYTICAL STUDY ON SOME NITROGEN CONTAINING DRUGS

Yasmin Mohammed Fayez El Tarras;

Abstract

This thesis consists of two parts describing the experimental work;

in addition to an appendix, the references and a summary in Arabic.

Part One:

This part is divided into four sections:

Section A:Literature Review

This section includes the different methods used for determination ofDonepezil Hydrochloride in pure form, phannaceutical formulations, and plasma
Section B:Stability-indicating spectrophotometric methods for

determination ofDonepezil Hydrochloride in the presence ofits oxidatiye degradate
In this section, determination ofDonepezil Hydrochloride in the

presence of its oxidative degradate was achieved by zero order, first derivative CD) and second derivative eo) spectrophotometric methods.
2D was successful over the other methods as it can determine the drug in the presence of up to 90% of its degradate.
Section C:Stabilitv-indicating spectroftuorimetric method for determination ofDonepezil Hydrochloride in the presence ofits . oxidative degradate
This method depends on that Donepezil Hydrochloride has native fluorescence while its degradate has no fluorescence, this method could determine the drug in plasma in concentration range of0.48-4.80J.Lg.mr 1•
Section D: Stability-indicating densitometric method for
• determination ofDonepezil Hydrochloride in the presence of its
oxidative degradate

This method is based on TLC separation of the drug from its degradate followed by densitometric measurement of the intact drug spot at 315 nm.
