Abstract

The present work included CT examination of 40 cases who were clinically diagnosed as chronic sinusitis, and subjected to CT examination where 25 cases examined in axial and coronal scans, while 15 cases examined in coronal scans only.

CT scanmng include all of the paranasal smuses, hard palate, maxillary teeth, skull base, orbits and nasopharynx. The scans obtained with 5 mm. Thickness at 5 mm. Intervals and narrower slices of 3 mm or even 2 mm. Thickness were obtained to evaluate the ostiomeatal complex. Soft tissue and bone windows were important for discrimination of muscle, fat, fluid, mucous membranes and fine bone details.
CT findings in chronic sinusitis revealed that mucosal thickening is the most common finding with or without bone sclerosis.
