Investigation of Different Analytical Techniques for The Quantitation of Certain UV-filters in Cosmeceutical Products
Neven Nabil Abdo Ahmed Mikawy;
Abstract
This part is divided into two sections:
Section A: General Introduction
This section comprises brief data about UV radiation, skin damage, Cosmeceutical sunscreen formulations, and sunscreens (UV-filters), their classes and stability.
Section B: Literature Review
This section includes the structures, physicochemical properties; furthermore it is concerned with an illustration of the different analytical methods reported for the analysis of the studied sunscreens.
PART (II): Chromatographic Methods
This part is divided into two sections:
Section A: Simultaneous Trace Determination of Multiclass UV-filters in Seawater by Green Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry Method Combined with Solid Phase Extraction
This section comprises LC/MS method for quantitative determination of seven UV-filters in Seawater, using Solid Phase Extraction. The optimum conditions for separation process were determined. The developed chromatographic method utilized Acquity UPLC BEH C18 (50 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) column as stationary phase, water (0.1% formic acid) and methanol in ratio (10:90, v/v) as a mobile phase with effluent flow rate 0.25 mL. min-1. Also, LC/MS technique was adopted for the structure elucidation
