A study on the Association between Intraocular Pressure and Spherical Refractive Errors

Hala Gamal Kamel Al-Basry;

Abstract

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases which result in damage to the optic nerve and vision loss. However, early detection and treatment may possibly slow or stop the progression of the disease.
Glaucoma has been called the "silent thief of sight" because the loss of vision usually occurs slowly over a long period of time. Worldwide, glaucoma is the second-leading cause of blindness after cataracts.
Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) is one of the risk factors for glaucoma. So measuring the intraocular pressure is important test in ophthalmology practice.
