Abstract
Cervical intra epithelial neoplasm (CJN) defined by the presence of atypical cells inside the cervical epithelial layer without invasion of basement membrane (old name cervical dysplasia). The abnormal cell are characterised by failure of differentiation, with all criteria of cellular and architectural atypia. The grades of CIN as follows CIN1 : Mild dysplasia, CIN2 : moderate dysplasia, CIN3 : severe dysplasia and CIS. Cytological screening for cancer of the cervix can identify premalignant lesions and early subclinical disease, thus allowing the prevention or cure of this cancer. After the adoption of widespread papanicolaou (Pap) smear.
