Abstract
Aim of the study: was to assess the difference between the degree of emotional intelligence and the student residence. Research design: It was a descriptive design study. Sample included 120 nursing students were selected randomly from rural and urban (48 rural, 72 urban). Settings: The study was conducted in the technical institutes of nursing, belonging to General Secretariat for Specialized Centers Hospital. Two institutes were selected randomly are Dar Elshefa Institute and Nasser Institute.
Tools: data was collected through using emotional intelligence scale to assess the degree of emotional intelligence of different nursing students. Results: There was a significant difference between rural & urban residence of studied nursing students regarding emotional intelligence, urban students have more emotional intelligence than rural nursing students where all nursing students have moderate levels of emotional intelligence.
