ASSESSMENT OF NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND SOME SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND HEALTH FACTORS FOR TEENAGER STUDENTS

Abstract


The aim of this study is to asses and study the relationship among socio - economic, health status and nutrition status of 200 female students in preparatory and secondary school in Tanta, Gharbia Governarate. The data were collected by using questionnaire and anthopometric measurements. The data were treated statstically by using percentages, means, simple correlation coefficnt and multiple regression, the results revealed that:


1- Parents education level have a great effectin consumption of nutrients, practicing activity , maintaining ideal weight, reducting incidence of parasitic diseases . while it was found that the family
. history of diseases occured over the various level of all the socio - economic.


2- Obesity presented in body mass index and mid upper arm muscles circumference was related to high sodium consumption and high protein consumption.


3- Multiple regression analysis explan the variances independant variables the results demonstrate that the predominante explaining factors are father and mother education and physical activity in explaining the variance of protein consumption, vitA, vit C, vit 82, and calcium consumption and also body mass index, physical activity; father employment in explaining the variance of sodium intake.


From the previous results it can be concluded that the method of multiple regression analysis support the results of simple correlation analysis and dominstrate the predominate factors influencing in variances as a result of comination and effective of all the independant factors for explanation.
