Effect of Conservative Management of Premature Rupture of Membranes on Maternal and Newnatal Outcome

Abstract
This study was carried out in the Department of Obstetric and Gynaecology, in Assiut University Hospital through the pilot study started from the end of December 1995 to the end of January 1996 to test the validity and clarity of the questions. The field work was performed for 12 months, where it started on February 1996 and continued till February 1997. This questionnaire was done on all days of the week morning shift and 2 hours in afternoon and night shift.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of conservative management in cases of PROM (from 36 weeks gestation till full-term) on maternal and neonatal outcome at 1 and 6 weeks after birth and compared with actively managed group of PROM of comparable weeks of gestation.
