Kariman Mahmoud Ramadan Ahmed;

Abstract

Lumbar puncture is increasingly performed procedure nowadays in different health care setting. PLPH is the most common serious complication resulting from lumbar punctures (diagnostic or therapeutic) and epidural or spinal anesthetics. Despite the prevalence of this condition from the late 19th century, relatively little is known about its pathophysiology and most accepted treatments are not evidence-based (Sachs & Smiley, 2014).
