Nancy Diaa Samir Bassili;

Abstract

Congenital uterine anomalies are commonly associated with high rates of abortion, preterm labor and other adverse fetal outcome. Every four women complaining of abortion and infertility one is found to have a uterine malformation.
It is also one of the causes of primary amenorrhea whether due to the presence of aplastic uterus with or without rudimentary cavity or due to the presence of severe obstructing cervical or vaginal anomaly which leads to severe cyclic pain, abdominal distension and endometriosis.
We examined forty patients their ages range between 17 and 60years old suspected of having congenital uterine malformations on 2D ultrasound. More than half the cases were unmarried (virgins).
