Abstract

DHD is the most common psychiatric disorder among children, it affects from 6.7 to 7.8% of children worldwide, it is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity according to DSM-5, it is mostly diagnosed in children before the age of seven years old.
Association of other psychiatric disorders with ADHD frequently co-occurs, this comorbidity overall prevalence in children and adolescents ranges from about 40 to 80% depending on the sample. This high prevalence of comorbidity and its frequent occurrence increases the need to assess any comorbid condition when assessing a child for ADHD and makes ADHD an important health issue.
