Follow up Study on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Patients with and Without Comorbid Mood Disorders Receiving Non Stimulant Medication

Abstract
DHD is the most common psychiatric disorder among children, it affects from 6.7 to 7.8% of children worldwide, it is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity according to DSM-5, it is mostly diagnosed in children before the age of seven years old.
Association of other psychiatric disorders with ADHD frequently co-occurs, this comorbidity overall prevalence in children and adolescents ranges from about 40 to 80% depending on the sample. This high prevalence of comorbidity and its frequent occurrence increases the need to assess any comorbid condition when assessing a child for ADHD and makes ADHD an important health issue.
