Abstract


Purpose: The recent literature on stress urinary incontinence is reviewed . Methods: Extensive literature search related to the diagnosis, management and modem treatment modalities.
Results: Stress urinary incontinence may be due to urethral hypermobility and or intrinsic sphincteric deficiency. History, clinical examination and special investigation especially urodynamic evaluation are essential for precise diagnosis. Treatment options include surgical and non surgical, the surgical treatment offers the best results.
