Micro Plasmonic Optical Resonator
Noha Hassan Anous;
Abstract
This work proposes a design means of planar hybrid plasmonic lithography-free optical angle tolerant filters operating in the visible spectral for two different applications: 1) Color filters for general imaging purposes and 2) Blue filters for VLC systems employing phosphor-coated white LEDs. Furthermore, the effect of the blue filter on the VLC system in terms of frequency response, BER and SNR is tested. The addition of blue filter in a VLC system is illustrated and justified.
Angle tolerant filters are crucial in various applications especially those with moving receivers and/or transmitters. Hence, design rules for MIM- and IMI- based hybrid plasmonic filters are illustrated. Such design rules may be applied at various wavelength ranges.
