DESIGN ASPECTS OF MINIATURE PARKS - THE EGYPTIAN CASE STUDY
Noha Ahmed Mohamed Al-Nady;
Abstract
The thesis aims to draw, from international miniature parks, a set of criteria for successful local parks. The study illustrates the history and importance of miniature parks and draws the design elements and technical dimensions necessary for a successful park. These elements and dimensions are elaborated through the analysis of six selected international miniature parks before being applied on the three miniature parks in Egypt. Through observations, documentation and interviews the study tests the design elements, management and maintenance, and the use of technology within local parks. The study concludes with a set of recommendations to transform Egyptian miniature parks into internationally competitive parks that work efficiently and effectively to develop and motivate the surrounding community.
