Reham Sabrey Tarkan;
Abstract
Abstract
Background: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental condition that is characterized by defects in social interactions and communication and restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. Gastrointestinal dysfunction is a common association. The role of gut microbiota in the development of neurologic diseases through the bidirectional communication “microbiota-gut-brain axis” is gaining considerable interest.
Aim of the Work: To study the effect of probiotic supplementation on behavioral, cognitive and gastrointestinal symptoms in children with autism spectrum disorder.
