Abstract

In the present study, 700 Kg of Barki wool was collected from Desert Research Center, Egypt, to study the effect of subjective grading system and blending with polyester on some wool and yarn characteristics of Egyptian Barki Sheep. Wool was graded subjectively into raw, fine and coarse, and then each grade was blended with 0%, 15%, 25%, 35% and 45% of polyester. The measured traits were analyzed using the SAS GLM procedure and differences between means were tested using Duncan's multiple range test.
