Abstract


This experimental work aimed at evaluation of the acute and chronic toxic effects of acetaminophen on the liver and kidney and the study of the
chronic effects of analgesic mixture containing acetaminophen, aspirin and

caffeine on these organs together with evaluation of the protective effect of

misoprostol on toxicity of these drugs.


The following toxicological experimental studies were canied out:



A. Acute, toxicity study:

.•
" This study was carried out on 240 albino rats divided into 12 groups.

Each group consists of 20 rats.


Grou1l I : Negative control group which was not subjected to treatment by any drug.

Group II: Placebo group, the animals of this group received 20% tween

80 I.P. (few drops of tween 80 inlml distilled water).

Group III: The animals of this group was given misoprostol (25 tg/kg) J.P.
