Abstract
The use of gastrointestinal segments in the urinary tract is requisite for the modem urologic surgeon. Bowel is frequently used m reconstructive urologic surgery for ureteral substitutes, bladder augmentation, and bladder replacement. Each procedure, Involving the use of bowel in reconstructive urology, has its own set of complications. These are usually long-term
complications that significantly add to patient morbidity and mortality.
