Nanodiamonds-based Systems for the Delivery of an Anticancer Drug

Moustafa Said Ibrahim Ali;

Abstract

Nanodiamonds (NDs) are amid the most inspiring materials for drug delivery purposes. They are solid carbon-based nanoparticles (NPs) that feature large surface area to mass ratio, inert core, tunable surface and most importantly, safety and biocompatibility. Much interest has been directed to the utilization of NDs for loading anticancer drugs after the discovery of their potential to boost the cytotoxic effect of chemotherapeutics.
