"Preparation and Characterization of Magnetic Nanocomposite from Agricultural Waste for Industrial Wastewater Treatment"

Kholod Hamdy Kamal Kamel;

Abstract

Water is an important and rare commodity in all our life. Due to the growth of the population and industries, many countries over the world face water shortage. Hence, all countries over the world adopting water security strategy by treatment the wastewater and reuse it. Different wastewater treatment technologies have been used such as Chemical oxidation, membrane processes, coagulation, distillation, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, biological treatment, and solvent extraction. Each one has its advantages and limitations in terms of operational costs, energy consumption, operational complexity, effluent quality, land requirements, and health & environmental impact. Nowadays, the sorption process has been nominated as an efficient and cheaper technology for wastewater treatment. Also, nanotechnology has a wide application in the field of wastewater treatment due to high surface area, and high mechanical and thermal properties for nanosorbents, which expected to influence the sorption capacity and increase the removal efficiency of pollutants within a short time. Due to the widespread availability and low cost of agricultural waste, many researchers use it to prepare nanosorbents not only to treat the contamination from wastewater but also to solve agriculture waste disposal problems to farmers.
