Evaluation of Shear Bond Strength and Antibacterial Action of Three Different Root Canal Sealers

Zakaria Abobaker Mohamed;

Abstract

The aim of present study was to evaluate the shear bond strength and antimicrobial activity of Metaseal soft sealer (metaacylate resin based), AH plus sealer (epoxy resin based), and Tubliseal sealer (ZOE based).
Part 1: (shear bond strength)
The total 63 human single rooted teeth were used in this study. Teeth were cleaned and shaped used Revo S system in a crown down technique. The canals were irrigated by using 2.6% NaOCL during instrumentation.
The teeth was divided into three groups according to sealer used in obturation (21 each), then each group sub divided into three subgroups according to the final irrigation (7 each). Finally sub group A was flushed by 17% EDTA for 5 min, subgroup B was flushed by 7% malic acid for 5 min, and subgroup C was flushed by 2% CHX for 5 min.
