USING OF MODERN TECHNIQUES IN ANIMAL FEEDING TO MAINTAIN THE PROFITABILITY OF THE SECTOR UNDER CLIMATE CHANGE CIRCUMSTANCES IN EGYPT

Abstract


This study was conducted at the private farm within ELADLIA farms area, situated about 50 km north east of Cairo in Belbes, Sharkia Governorate. It was lasted for 80 days from 15 July 2014 to 03 October 2014. Calves was purchased at 28 Jun 2014 which were maintained collectively in the farm to rehabilitation of those rumen on the new suggested feed for 17 days before starting the study.
This research was aimed to study the effect of ZAD probiotic supplementation to fattening male Friesian crossbred calves received the experimental rations containing barley sprout greens, orange pulp silage, wheat germ and molasses during fattening period without any traditional feedstuffs on fattening male Friesian crossbred calves growth performance, meat production and production profitability.
Fourteen fattening male Friesian crossbred calves (with average initial weight 282.286 kg) were used to study the effect of ZAD® probiotic supplementation on calves' blood plasma parameters, rumen liquor parameters, fecal components, nutrients digestibility, growth performance, boneless meat, feed conversion ratio and production profitability.
